Needed: Fleet Mechanic for Pool Remodeling Company based in El Cajon, CA

Gardner Outdoor and Pool Remodeling is the largest pool remodeler in Southern California. We have been in business since 1969 with 3 branches located in El Cajon, Anaheim, and Palm Desert. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles from pick-up trucks to 45,000 GVW flatbeds including diesel (approx. 18 vehicles)

· Manage DOT compliance which includes performing periodic BIT inspections, ensuring driver drug testing is happening, enforcing drivers are completing logs daily.

· Maintain maintenance records, maintain vehicle registrations current and improve process to convert from paper based to computer based using existing systems.

· Light fabrication, welding is necessary periodically.

· Knowledge of hydraulics helpful but can be learned on the job.

· Develop/maintain vendor relationships

· Travel to Indio and Orange County branches as needed for maintenance/repair of Plaster trucks. 98% of work is at San Diego branch.

· Assist in receiving materials using forklift into the warehouse

· General housekeeping of shop area, utilizing 5s methodologies to maintain an orderly and safe workplace..

Qualifications:

· Excellent organization skills

· 5 years min. experience on mechanical systems

· Trouble shooting skills

· Familiarity with complex electronic control systems

· Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment well.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
