ExamWorks is seeking Medical Office Assistant!

Quality health care doesn’t just happen. It requires the help of a person who can follow the directions of a doctor while also making the patient feel comfortable. The ability to give the same level of attention and detail to each and every patient, maintain a smooth flow of examinations, and cover the front desk to ensure all questions and inquiries are handled accordingly.

The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with some weekend/evening work as well.

WHAT IT TAKES
: You will float between our clinics for the Bakersfield, Palmdale, Lancaster, Antelope Valleys areas. Spanish is a Plus, General Office experience, and others as needed (mileage reimbursed!) .


The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for preparing examination rooms, recording height and weight, preparing examinees for examination and assisting physicians as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Routes examinee to exam room, vitals room and/or x-ray room as needed.
  • Review chart and verifies examinee information is available for examining physician.
  • When necessary, chaperones examinations with female examinees or as requested by physician.
  • Responsible for set-up, maintenance, and cleanliness of exam rooms.
  • Maintains a smooth flow of examinations to ensure appointments are kept on schedule.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records.
  • Ensures all practices are carried out in accordance with state and federal safety and legal regulations.
  • Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
  • Uploads medical records from Records Dept. and also pull records from client sites to upload into our system.
Qualifications:
  • Reliable transportation for travel.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years on the job experience in a medical office or related field preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Must have adequate knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medications and laboratory values.
  • Must possess complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
  • Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
