Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Food & Nutrition Services Coordinator at our facility you will have the opportunity to be both a nutrition professional and a caregiver, leading a hard-working and compassionate team that is so vital for the day-to-day functions of our hospital. In this role:

  • You will, under the Director of FNS, supervise, coordinate, and participate in tray line, dish room, cafeteria, and cleaning activities of the department.
  • You will prepare assignment schedules for diet office personnel to maintain adequate service levels at all times to service areas.
  • You will inspect subordinate staff’s work and determine if menu and other informational, record-keeping accuracy standards are met.
  • You will introduce and instruct personnel in the use of equipment and processes to provide the most economical methods of providing timely quality nutritional care.
  • You will assist in the development and implementation of policies/procedures, evaluations, and assessment guidelines.
  • You will participate in the development of short and long-range goals and objectives for the department.
  • You will work with department management in regards to Human Resource duties by giving suggestions and recommendations for things such a hiring, evaluation, promoting, and disciplining staff.
  • You will coordinate in-service meetings for FNS staff.
  • You will maintain a good working relationship with staff and model excellent positive customer relations, promoting positive, efficient customer relations from staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Food Handlers Permit or ServSafe Certification required.
  • Food service experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hospital dietary office preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skill required.
