This is a great job for someone who loves to work independently and stay active, loves kids and wants a low-stress, fun part-time job! Our kitchen provides meals and snacks to over 500 preschool children at nine centers throughout Snohomish County. The Food Service Worker delivers meals to their assigned center and returns dirty dishes back to our kitchen. The Food Service Worker is also responsible for helping with food prep, dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing. This is a non-permanent, hourly position and reports to the Food Service Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

25%: Driving a program vehicle

• Drive a program vehicle to transport food, supplies, and equipment to and from kitchen and assigned preschool center

25%: Kitchen Help

• Load and unload cambros into program vehicles
• Other duties as assigned

50%: Food Prep and Serving

• Set up food for family-style meal service in the classroom, prep food for breakfast and snacks
• Maintain the health and safety of all children and their environment
• Ensure that no child is ever left alone or unsupervised

KEY COMPETENCIES (specific knowledge, skills or skill sets, and/or abilities necessary to perform work activities): * Be able to perform all the essential functions of the position

• Ability to work independently, but also be a team player
• Ability to problem-solve and handle sensitive information and difficult situations tactfully and confidentially
• Must be knowledgeable of and work in accordance with Head Start/ECEAP Performance Standards, Federal, State, and College policies and regulations, and negotiated agreements
• Must be able to communicate via email and phone

JOB READINESS FACTORS (working conditions such as environmental factors, mental and physical demands, willingness issues of the position):

• If assigned a driving position, must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and personal automobile insurance
• Must be flexible and able to negotiate priorities according to program needs while considering rules and process requirements
• Must be able to work under stressful situations and manage stress appropriately
• Must be able to accomplish repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Must be able to exhibit cultural humility when working with staff and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds
• Must consistently adhere to an established work schedule and maintain a 95% attendance rate
• Ability to perform regular sanitation/cleaning of the classroom or kitchen that may require the use of a broom, carpet sweeper, mop, vacuum, and the use of cleaning products
• Must be able to transport self to off-site trainings and meetings

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $17.38 per hour

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
