Shift: Monday-Friday Day Shift
Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Position: Food Service Worker
Join our Metz team in the Tuscarora School District and make a positive impact in our children's lives. We prepare and serve healthy food choices for breakfast and lunch at six site locations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review menu with your supervisor at the start of each shift and adjust for change or special service.
- Prepare and set up all food and serve as directed ensuring proper temperatures and portion sizes.
- Ensure that all menus are posted in the proper areas and that changes to the menus have been communicated to the responsible individuals within proper time to act.
- After meal period service, break down and clean all service areas and equipment, ensuring proper sanitation and all items put in their proper storage areas.
- Observe students when they are working in the food service areas to ensure their safety, alerting their supervisors of any area of concern.
- Review with your supervisor any pre – preparation needed for menu service or special function completing your assignments in a timely manner.
- Prepare and serve and merchandise menu items in a manner that best enhances the products to the age level of our clients.
- Prepare and gather all items needed for snacks and breaks and ensure they are delivered to the proper areas.
- Before shift ends, review with your supervisor the next day’s service so that you are aware of any special needs or production for menu service.'
To be considered you have to be able to pass a drug screening, and three clearances to work in the school district. Fingerprint-based background check, PA child abuse Certificate, and PA- Criminal History check. *These have to be completed, prior to onboarding.*
