What does an FOE Landcaping & Snow Removal Foreman do?
Responsible for landscaping duties while also overseeing projects and handing down direction to employees from the owner.
Foreman duties and responsibilities
Under the direction of the owner and completes a variety of tasks to achieve a functional and pleasant outdoor area. Duties and responsibilities are:
- Mowing, edging and fertilizing lawns
- Weeding and mulching landscape beds
- Trimming small trees, hedges and shrubs
- Planting shrubs, flowers and trees
- Watering gardens, lawns and landscapes
- Caring for and cultivating foliage including planting, fertilizing, weeding, watering, trimming and pruning, soil conditioning, mulching
- Ensuring pathways, stairs, outdoor seating and other structures are safe
- Installing sprinkler/irrigation and drainage systems
- Installing landscape lighting systems
- Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc
- Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment
- Snow Removal
Foreman skills and qualifications
Position requires both physical and mental skills to be successful including:
- Self organized and motivated
- Customer service oriented
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds when needed, stamina and the ability to work outdoors for long periods of time
- Familiarity with landscaping equipment a plus
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- High school degree or equivalent
- At least 18 years old
- Must know how to operate lawn maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers
- Must pass background check and drug test
