What You'll Do!

Rampart has some ambitious goals. The FPGA role offers unique opportunities to broaden your experience and to use your talents to tackle challenges. Working here, you will contribute to the foundation of next generation wireless capabilities. Some of the leadership expectations for the position are:

• Participate in all phases of the FPGA design flow - from concept to IP core production
• Develop high-level design requirements and block-level micro-architectures, partition design within FPGA constraints, and create specification documents
• Develop RTL designs using HDL, with emphasis on DSP and digital communication system blocks (physical layer, link layer, error correction, etc.)
• Develop test benches and test cases for block and system-level functional verification using MATLAB HDL Verifier, emphasizing bit-matching and self-checking
• Work in collaboration with systems and DSP engineers to verify HDL DSP blocks/systems against fixed-point MATLAB models
• Collaborate with software engineers in developing production software that interacts with your HDL designs

Are We a Match?

We're hiring for a broad range of roles and skills within the organization. Submit a resume if your experience includes:

• 4+ years of professional FPGA development experience
• Ability to read and write MATLAB/Octave scripts
• Proficient in development of HDL modules using Verilog or SystemVerilog
• Experience using either Vivado or Quartus (Vivado preferred)
• Ability to use EDA tools such as XSim, Questa, ModelSim, Xcelium (Xcelium preferred) for HDL simulation
• Ability to work in a Linux development environment
• Understanding of timing closure and hardware debugging techniques
• Experience developing HDL modules and systems of modules from initial specification through simulation and bitfile creation
• Experience writing module and system level self-checking testbenches in HDL
• Strong understanding of how HDL is converted into netlists, and what the placer/fitter does

• Willing to work onsite at our Linthicum Heights Maryland office
