Full-Time Front Office Receptionist needed for busy pediatric clinic. A smiling, friendly face is a must! This is a full-time position with alternating weekends required.

  • Cordially greet all parents and patients
  • Perform office duties quickly and efficiently to insure smooth flow of patients to the back
  • When help is needed, the telephone is to be answered promptly and courteously
  • Direct all emergencies IMMEDIATELY
  • Document messages clearly with all pertinent information for a call to be returned
  • Cross-train with all front office duties so that you could cover in any area as needed
  • Speak cordially to parents/patients as they sign in and check out, making every effort to answer any questions they may have
  • Make every effort to do your job right the first time to save you and others the time in doing it again
  • Promote a positive work environment in your interaction with fellow employees
  • In all that you do, protecting a patient's privacy is a PRIORITY
  • The goal of ALL employees is to be a help to our parents and patients

You are expected to be open to suggestions. You are also expected to work for what is best for the practice, not just for the benefit of your piece of what needs to be done. You must be willing to go beyond your duties to get the job done for the team. You are therefore responsible for interacting with people who have different responsibilities than you do to facilitate the whole operation.

The following are those tasks to be learned and performed by the front office personnel:

  • Answering the phone.
  • Make appointments for all providers in accordance with what is being requested and what is available.
  • Following through on phone calls, i.e. page person being called, make sure a physician gets a personal call or call from another physician.
  • Setting up patients signed in with ticket and appropriate information in the EHR.
  • Checking out patients who have been seen, add total charges for the ticket, verify doctor's signature, diagnosis, and diagnosis code are legible on the ticket, post all payments appropriately, if parent pays cash, always giving a written receipt for the amount paid.
  • Bank deposit and charge batch for the previous day.
  • Filing to include charts and scanning patient reports, hospital papers, etc, directly to the patient EHR.
  • Other miscellaneous office work as designated to include rotating with other personnel in going to the bank each day and other errands that may be necessary, pick up at accountants, etc.
  • Open and/or close for the day

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour
