The Neil Jones Food Company is looking for a Full Can De-Palletizer at our San Benito Foods facility in Hollister, CA. The Neil Jones Food Company processes superior quality, fresh packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. With headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 35 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

Summary: Observes the flow of cans into the palletizing machine; observes cans being stacked onto pallets in rows/layers. Ensures dented cans are removed. Observes mechanical devices in operation and notifies maintenance mechanic if there are issues or concerns. Performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations. This is a non-exempt, union position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Starts and stops de-palletizer machine.
• Visually observes cans on the conveyers to ensure there are no dents or defects.
• Position, unless automatically set, the layers of cans to proper level; start and stop can sweep.
• Remove and stack the dividers between layers of cans.
• Remove and position empty pallets remaining after all cans are fed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills required, ability to count accurately.
• Exceptional reasoning ability.
• Able to visually inspect cans; stand, walk, and climb stairs; and reach with hands and arms.

Compensation:

The hourly union wage is $19.99.
