Overview

Self-directed, hands-on professional responsible for the accounting operations of all business entities. Ensures internal control policies, and procedures mitigate risk and enhance accuracy of reported financial results.

Responsibilities

1) Manage the daily accounting operations, including, but not limited to:

2) Manage daily cash activities including deposits, disbursements, and credits;

3) Manage bank relationships and prepare timely bank account reconciliations;

4) Provide timely and accurate income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow reports;

5) Oversight or A/R and A/P entries and reconciliations;

6) Maintain adherence to GAAP accounting principles;

7) Assist in month-end close schedule development, maintenance and entry;

8) Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements;

9) Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures;

10) Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit and tax filings;

11) Supervise, train, and coach accounting staff in support of Accounting Manager responsibilities;

12) Maintain the chart of accounts;

13) Maintain an orderly accounting filing system;

14) Develop personal and professional development plans for yourself and team;

15) Attend and positively influence staff meetings;

16) Protects operations by keeping employee and financial information confidential;

17) Be professional, efficient and responsive in communications.

18) Support and participate in the development of new business process management systems and compliance of same.

19) Support business process management improvements including electronic and software integration.

20) Participate in department training and learning programs for personal and professional development.

21) Accountable for daily attendance, personal days, vacations, and holidays.

22) Contribute to periodic performance reviews and embrace improvements.

23) This is a full-time position that requires a 40-50-hour work week.

Education and Professional Qualifications

1) Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;

2) 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in business and/or corporate accounting;

3) Strong leadership skills with employee relationship building and performance management techniques;

4) Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax filing and reporting requirements;

5) Strong aptitude and operational skills in QuickBooks accounting software;

6) Strong aptitude and operational skills in MS Office software, especially Excel;

7) Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal structures preferred;

8) Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment;

9) Strong work ethic with ability to meet all assigned deadlines;

10) Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization;

11) Professional business and relationship skills;

12) Exceptional organizational and priorities management skills;

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
