The Fund Development Coordinator, Grants supports Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s Fund Development department in the timely and accurate submission of funding requests and award reporting to corporate, foundation and government funders. This support includes the development of written content for grant applications, reports, and other donor communication, researching new funding prospects, and ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of all grant award requirements.

This position will serve on average 15-20 hours per week and is eligible for internship credits. Starting salary is $18.00 per hour. Experience is considered with job offer.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Grant Writing and other written communications
  • Create new and update current written content for grant proposals, funding reports, and annual appeals that accurately reflects Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s mission, vision, programs, goals/outcomes, and accomplishments.
  • Write memos, letters, emails, and other forms of correspondence related to donor engagement as needed.

Funder Reporting & Research

  • Assist in preparing all interim and final reports due to private foundations, corporate foundations, Girl Scouts of the USA, United Ways and GSEM leadership.
  • Collaborate with other Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri departments (Programs, Membership, Outreach, Data, etc.) to gather and present to funders timely and accurate report content including but not limited to program/organizational outcomes, evaluation results, demographics, and other necessary information as needed.
  • Work with the Finance department on grant budgets
  • Collaborate with Program and Membership Directors to ensure each donor funded project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectation
  • Responsible for developing, entering, and tracking grant data into the appropriate software and grant activity spreadsheet (goals reached, outcomes achieved, donor requirements fulfilled, etc.)

Research and Grant Database Management

  • Use resources such as Foundant, Foundation Directory Online and others, to research and identify new funding opportunities that support Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s program priorities and operations. Make recommendation as to proposal concept.
  • Work with Fund Development team to develop a plan of outreach for new funding prospects.
  • Record all grant applications, report submissions, and funder communications in grants database (Foundant) and donor database (Raiser’s Edge).

Other Duties

  • Support the Fund Development Department in other fundraising efforts as needed.
  • A deep interest in philanthropy, donor relations, grant writing, and database management preferred.
  • Proven record of excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally and clearly with colleagues and donors via email, phone calls, virtual and in-person meetings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work successfully with colleagues, donors, administrators, and volunteers
  • Proficient at time and process management
  • Confident, professional, energetic, self-motivated, and ethical
  • Ability to work independently within a strong teamwork philosophy toward common goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule
  • Belief in the mission of Girl Scouting
