NYC and Long Island Gardeners! Green Hūs Design is looking for you! After a long, and quite strange year we are ready to get back into a routine. We are a garden design, build and maintenance firm operating both in New York City and The North Fork of Long Island. We provide a white glove service maintaining and installing landscapes throughout the tri-state area. We are looking for full-time and part-time gardeners to work this March through January 2022. There is also opportunity to work in the Winter for the right candidates. The right candidates will be ready to work with a smile on their face whether its rain or shine!

Qualifications:

Full-time gardeners should have experience in high end urban gardening and/or estate gardening. Part-time gardeners should have a desire to learn the craft. A driver's license is a huge plus. OSHA 30 and SST 10 or the ability to complete these safety training courses is a must. Candidates should be able to lift 75+ lbs when necessary. The ability to effectively communicate with management and clientele is essential. Gardeners should be able to execute their work in a precise, orderly and cleanly fashion.

Please let us know about what aspects of horticulture you have have experience with and also feel confident in your understanding. Examples being IPM, pruning, planting, identification, irrigation, lighting, hardscape, woodworking, etc!

Job Responsibilities:

Installation: Candidates should feel comfortable with the proper installation methods for drainage, soils and plantings. Knowledge of basic hand tools is essential, and an understanding of power tools is a plus. Comprehension of irrigation and low voltage lighting is a huge plus!

Maintenance: Candidates should be able to care for gardens and understand how to leave them looking at their best after each and every visit throughout the year. The ability to operate in private homes in a quiet, polite and cleanly fashion is highly important.
