Gas Marketing Analyst Job at Targa Resources
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide analytical support to commercial natural gas group. This will include constructing commercial and operational spreadsheets to help inform, organize and improve communication within the natural gas group as well as other areas within Targa
- Function as a commercial rep for accounting issues
- Provide assistance in creating commercial reports originating from Allegro for TGM
- Assist in various accounting issues that pertain to TGM
- Work closely with and augment Risk Management team to develop TGM monthly reports of commodity length and exposures and updates of marketing and transport books
- Assist in weekend and same day residue gas sales for various Targa gas plants
- Facilitate month to month gas transportation procurement
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or related field
- Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Microsoft Word
- Strong communication and documentation skills, including the ability to interact effectively with various levels of staff and management
- Motivated, self-directed and detail-oriented, while also maintaining a results-driven approach to work; Demonstrated accountability skills including the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to recognize and research irregularities and inconsistencies
- Deadline oriented
- Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail, including organization of work papers
- Effective in a dynamic environment, adapting to and managing change in a positive and proactive manner
- Capable of establishing effective working relationships that promote teamwork and collaboration
- Ability to remain positive, professional, determined, calm and focused when faced with challenging situations
- General understanding of the midstream natural gas industry is required.
