General Maintenance Worker Job at University of Tennessee Medical Center
Position Summary:
Performs minor repairs to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, furnishing, medical gases and installations of minor equipment for nursing and staff office areas such as:

General installation of pictures, office equipment and minor carpenter repairs.

Patches and paints walls where damage is visible.

Performs electrical repairs on lighting in patient rooms, switches, ballast, etc.

Performs general plumbing repairs on sinks, commodes, showers, and drains.

Removes, repairs, replaces, electric beds, chairs, recliners, hide-a-bed, etc..
-
Responds to emergency calls, fire alarms, elevators, floods, code green, and power interruptions.

Respond to hot and cold patient rooms, replace or repair valves, leaks, thermostats, etc.

Performs monthly walk-thru assessment of assigned spaces.

Preventative maintenance work order and The Joint Commission compliance related work orders are completed as assigned and on time.

Assists with maintenance dispatch duties as needed during emergent situations and staffing shortages.
Position Qualification:
Education Required/Preferred (and/or)
High school diploma or GED.
Experience
1 - 3 years
Years of Experience can be related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
Valid TN Driver's License
