McKendree University, a selective private university with an enrollment of over 2,300 students, welcomes applications for a Graduate Admission Specialist. Located in Lebanon, Illinois, McKendree has been recognized by the Chronicle of Higher Education as “A Great College to Work For”.
Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admission, the Graduate Admission Specialist will be an essential and active member of the Enrollment Team. This person will be involved in all aspects of the recruitment of highly qualified and diverse students for McKendree’s graduate programs. The Graduate Admission Specialist will participate in the on-going development, planning, implementation, and assessment of recruitment and outreach strategies.
Responsibilities will include reading and evaluating admission applications; serving on admission committees; representing McKendree to a diverse audience; development of recruiting strategies, and providing follow-up to students concerning admission, financial aid and registration matters.
The desired candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently with little supervision while also being a team player, have the energy and flexibility to coordinate multiple assignments, and work collegially with faculty, students, and staff in a goal-driven environment.
A bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license are required. One to two years of higher education admission experience or related work experience is preferred.
