Founded in 1970, East Valley Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) who's services include providing personalized, affordable, high-quality medical, dental, vision and behavioral health care through a community-based network within the East San Gabriel Valley and Pomona Communities. Our staff practices patient-centered care by serving each patient with a personalized care plan that meets their individual needs. Our patients have access to support services that include, nutrition, health education, case management, pharmacy, lab, and x-ray at our health center locations. East Valley serves the health care needs of uninsured and underserved individuals and families throughout our 8 health center locations.

Position Purpose:

The Graphic designer will create engaging and on-brand graphics for marketing material development, web design (website design), multimedia design, social media design, and brand identity. This function is responsible for creating visual communications to convey messages in an effective and aesthetically pleasing manner with our Marketing and Communication team.

Position Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Collaborates with director, staff, departments, and/or other project participants to understand the project assignment, audience and intended message, and outcome goals.
  • Creates original visual media that communicates the desired felling or messaging in an engaging and unified way.
  • Design and maintain current web pages, brochures, flyers, signage, digital media post, digital videos, digital and print advertisements, and other communication materials.
  • Create these materials by hand or by using technology, including computer software programs.
  • Create illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone of the communications.
  • Prepares drafts of design work and provides samples to director or other appropriate staff or departments for review.
  • Attend regularly-scheduled and impromptu meetings and maintain communication with team members and supervisor.
  • Maintains project reporting and outcomes.
  • Responsible for complying with HIPPA standards.
  • Perform other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements and Qualification:

  • BA/BS degree in graphic design or related field of study; Industry experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a graphic designer.
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
  • Understanding of marketing, digital media, social media, communications, and business.
  • Understanding of branding concepts and basic graphic design elements with a strong eye for visual composition.
  • Proficiency with desktop publishing tools, including Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft Office Suite, CRM’s, QR codes, and fundraising software.
  • Ability to produce communication messages and material that are meaningful to ethnically and culturally diverse communities. A talent for creativity and critical thinking is essential.
  • Strong time-management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to multitask and meet multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Able to work flexible job hours. Schedule is subject to change.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (read, write, speak).
