Position Description

The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Grounds Maintenance Worker (M&O Maintenance Worker). The purpose if this position is to maintain the landscaping and property in and around the City parks, facilities and other landscaped areas. This is accomplished by providing care and maintenance of grass and maintaining irrigation for plant life. Other duties include assisting with special events; attending staff meetings and training; coordinating with other departments; and interacting with the public.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and as assigned, six months of work experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Work may include weekends and evenings/nights and participating in rotating on-call duties. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within the first (1) year of hire.

Physical Demands

Depending on assignment - Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects. May be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, and intense noises.

Closing Date: Open until filled Hiring Salary: $17.19 - $20.63 hourly D.O.E.
