Unique opportunity to learn and master a crucial function at Ocean Spray. Working directly with our grower-owners and multiple teams across the cooperative, the Grower Finance Analyst will gain exposure to processes beginning with the delivery of fruit to the distribution of profits back to our members. In short, you will be paying the producers of cranberries for their fruit. Don’t know what that means? Don’t worry, we will train you!
Position location: We're all about flexibility! This will be a hybrid role based out of our corporate headquarters in Lakeville, MA.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grower Finance Analyst executes, contributes and/or supports Grower Finance processes including but not limited to payment processing and posting, equity issuance and redemption, tax reporting, contract administration and Cooperative governance.
This role interacts with the Ag Supply team, our receiving network, the entire Finance team, and Legal. Occasional opportunities to present to the Board of Directors or its’ committees. The right individual has the opportunity to grow into a leadership role.
  • Supports or executes payment related activities to Ocean Spray’s Grower-Owners
  • Supports or executes equity transactions for Ocean Spray’s Grower-Owners
  • Team participation in the preparation, issuance, and transaction reconciliations regarding tax activities, governance activities, payments and equity transactions
  • Maintain and update transactions related to the financial aspects of a contract.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate research and response to grower-owner inquiries and requests for financial and equity information
  • Assists with maintenance of proprietary software application; identifies necessary updates and performs user acceptance testing.
  • Engage with Grower community to respond to inquiries, resolve issues and provide education around cooperative model.
  • Assist with accounting activities within the Grower Finance team, including reconciling cash accounts.
  • Learn and participate in governance and compliance functions.
Decision-Making Authority/Accountability Level: Plans own work priorities and assists senior team members with complex tasks. Works independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
  • Excellent technical skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; knowledge of, or experience with the scrum process of development a plus;
  • Individual should possess strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and communication skills; must have the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization.
  • Must be results oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and translate legal documents into transactional details.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking and time sensitive environment with the ability to prioritize own work within the overall department needs.
  • Dependable, adaptable and a willingness to learn.
  • Display high degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or business.
