Job brief

We are looking for a reliable Handyman to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior or exterior of company job sites. We will rely on you to keep our job sites in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs.

Deft hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a handyman’s arsenal. You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job.

Handyman responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Clean facilities by sweeping, dusting etc.
• Perform maintenance and light repairs.
• Perform routine landscaping on the grounds.
• Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.).
• Undertake light installations or carpentry (e.g. build cabinets).
• Repair equipment or appliances.
• Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs.
• Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks.
• Identify and report the need for major repairs.
• Staying on top of project expectations and specifications.
• Keeping work sites organized and efficient.
• Documenting progress made at every work site.
• Preparing necessary materials and tools for assigned projects.
• Ensuring project deadlines are met.

Requirements

We are looking for people with a strong work ethic, a professional appearance and demeanor, and a beginner overall knowledge of general maintenance and repairs. You must also display excellent customer service skills, including solid communication and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to interact in a positive way with a wide variety of different types of clients, as well as fellow employees, management, and office personnel.

Specific qualifications for the role include:

• Successful prior track record in some sort of customer-facing role.
• Successful prior track record as a handyman.
• Ability to perform minor electrical and plumbing.
• Experience with hardware tools
• Own standard set of tools to perform the work required.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems.
• Own truck or van.
• Current and valid driver’s license.
• Residence within our service area.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work Setting

• Indoor and outdoor setting, environmentally controlled office environment at company worksite.
• Some noise levels that could be distracting.
• Team atmosphere working well with co-workers, customers, vendors, and others.
• Local travel will be required.

Body Positioning

• Spend time making repetitive motions, standing, and/or using your hands to control objects.
• The ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $29.00 - $39.00 per hour
