Head of Strategic Finance

In this role, you will oversee the financial planning, budgeting, metrics, FP&A, and data collection work at Transeo. You'll be a strategic partner in the company's decision-making, working closely with executive leadership, growth & business development functions.

We've refined our product and have an opportunity to not only be a category leader, but if done right, we can own the category. Your job would be to ensure we understand the financial impact of all decisions and level us up from an early-stage start-up to a growth-stage business.

You'll report directly to the CEO and significantly impact the business's financial planning. This role will be critical in all capital raise initiatives. Our goal is to use smart financial planning and measurements to make better overall business decisions—your job is to be the numbers person in making that happen.

Successful Candidate Profile:

  • Prior experience scaling growth-stage SaaS companies
  • Embodies strategic leadership

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Deep knowledge of SaaS metrics, startup financial modeling, accounting, and control
  • Experience modeling metrics for planning and tracking for reporting and retrospectives
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly forecasting process to ensure the company has the most current information available to support resource allocation and decision making
  • Manage financial planning, budgeting, metrics, FP&A, data collection, and corporate development work
  • Ability to conduct an in-depth financial analysis of the business and develop an understanding of revenue drivers to identify improvement areas and opportunities
  • Solid analytical skills with an action-oriented approach to problem-solving required
  • Experience preparing investor-ready financial analyses, fundraising materials, strategic planning, exploration of market direction, and investor/board updates
  • Building processes and infrastructure to effectively track and scale revenue
  • Digging into marketing analytics and pricing strategy (bundling, retention, and customer segmentation)
  • Experience developing and evolving forecasting models reflective of CAC, ARR, MRR, CLV, ARPU, Churn, Headcount Growth, Burn, and Investment
  • Experience defining, coordinating, and optimizing Accounting and Finance practices from end to end
  • AP/AR, Payroll, Monthly/Yearly Close, managed in-house or with 3rd party support
  • Serve as consigliere for the CEO

Some things you may have done in the past:

  • Built financial models for software business
  • Have prepared investor-ready financial documents
  • Were a Director or Vice President of Finance at a SaaS company
  • Have a track record of developing processes and collaborating on strategies in a fast-growth environment to scale an organization to $10MM plus revenue.

Must-haves:

  • Been part of raising a Series A
  • Experience building financial models for SaaS companies
  • Experience driving FP&A efforts in growth stage $2-10MM+ business, including driving process improvements in growing financial organizations.
  • Ability to identify business metrics that are critical to the evaluation of an organization's performance and valuation
  • Advanced financial modeling and quantitative skills with a passion for using data to drive better decision-making

Nice to haves:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Excellent presentation and communication with C-level executives, colleagues, advisors, board members, and other internal/external stakeholders
  • Experience commensurate to an MBA and/or CFA

Day-to-Day expectations and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Finance and Accounting best practices, procedures, and processes to drive best-in-class forecast & planning, business insight, and analysis to support key members of the senior leadership team
  • Drive financial analyses to evaluate the company's operational and strategic decisions
  • Support all financial aspects of Transeo
  • Direct preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual company financial performance reporting, metrics, and analysis
  • Responsible for the development of presentations and analyses for internal management and Board of Director presentations
  • Lead annual and multi-year financial strategic planning
  • Monitor and report on the momentum of the business against forecast and against the plan.
  • Oversee analysis for strategic decisions with regard to strategic partnerships, and fundraising, as well as the preparation of business analyses, trending analyses, and other ad-hoc projects as needed
  • Increase the fluency of the business around financial metrics, analysis, and financially-driven thinking in making decisions.

For Pay Transparency: Total on target first year compensation is $150,000.00 - 175,000.00, including base salary commensurate with experience. The final offer amount may depend on experience, education, and skills.
