Chenega Enterprise Systems and Solutions , LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Health Communication Specialist III to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), Office of the Director (OD). This person will provide Health Communications and Digital Media Support.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop communication materials and resources for clinicians and patients. Materials should employ plain language and risk communications principles and be built upon formative research available. This could include web content, graphics coordination, key messages, planning documents, advertising copy, storyboards, etc. Proactively recommend new tactics as part of the overall strategy.
  • Provide consultation support to the CDC with web or social media content on various CDC platforms, including CDC’s vaccine safety website, CDC’s medication safety website, CDC’s HAI website, CDC’s Infection Control website, CDC’s infectious disease websites, and other topic-specific webpages, and agency and center social media profiles. Ensure that all CDC guidelines for social media and clearance are followed.
  • Identify, recommend, and create tailored content for potential partners to help assure CDC’s messages are reaching key audiences.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts, as well as communications professionals from other Divisions and Centers to share information and ensure effective efforts and successful collaboration. Maintain those partnerships.
  • Work with CDC graphics and broadcast staff to create compelling images (infographics) and videos that could be used for presentations, reports, website content, social media outreach, etc.
  • Assure the accuracy and consistency of CDC’s messages and materials.
  • Provide consultation support to the CDC with the coordination of major announcements or awareness efforts; collaborate with key communications, web, and media staff to coordinate the dissemination through DHQP communication channels.
  • Proactively identify, research, and resolve problems or issues; participate in team strategy session to discuss solutions. Proactively recommend updated strategies to improve formative research, analysis tactics and outreach efforts.
  • Participates in meetings as representative of the DHQP communications team and provides meeting updates/summary to relevant team members.
  • Provide consultation support to the CDC in triaging and developing responses to DHQP inquiries to CDC-INFO.
  • Proactively identify, research, and resolve problems or issues; participates in team strategy session to discuss solutions. Proactively recommends updated strategies to improve analysis tactics and outreach efforts.
  • Format and send Adobe Campaign (or other email subscription platform) messages, format and post Safe Healthcare blog entries, moderate (review/approve/triage and/or respond to) blog comments, and/or use the WCMS to update or edit DHQP Intranet content. Use SharePoint for workflow/task management.
  • Follow Section 508 guidelines when preparing electronic documents that will be posted online or distributed via email. Use HHS Checklists to help ensure compliance with the guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Four (4) to seven (7) years of relevant, direct comparable or similar work experience.
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience to substitute.
