High Desert Medical Group is seeking a full time Health Education Nurse. Under the direct supervision of Health Education Director, the selected individual will be responsible for facilitating health education classes on various health topics, and perform administrative services. They will teach and model positive self-management skills and concepts related to health, lifestyle change, and behavior modification. Must maintain a professional, positive, and caring attitude at all times.
Summary of Duties:
- Demonstrate care, concern, and courtesy when interacting with all internal or external customers.
- Display a warm and pleasant personality emphasizing tact, empathy and patience.
- Prepare for (chart review, charting) and facilitate educational programs regarding wellness information and disease management.
- Assist with scheduling patients for appropriate Health Education appointments.
- Make appointment confirmation calls as needed.
- Assist with room set-up for Health Education classes.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule.
- Initiate and appropriately participate in a Code White, Code Blue, Code Red, and Code Grey within guidelines of scope of practice.
- Attend community events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $49,920.00 and $68,744.00/year, non-exempt; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Requirements:- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited school for medical assisting or nursing, or other health related field.
- Current California certification for Medical Assisting (CMA), or Nursing License.
- Minimum one-year experience in an education setting preferred.
- Minimum two years clinical experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and NextGen preferred.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Ability to handle a multitude of assignments, meeting all given deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize work in order to meet daily deadlines.
- Ability to deal responsibly with confidential matters.
- Ability to work in a multi-task, highly productive environment.
