Health Unit Coordinator

Knoxville Center for Behavioral Medicine is a brand new comprehensive inpatient behavioral health facility. We provide acute behavioral health care and outpatient treatment to adults and geriatric adults who are in crisis from severe symptoms related to behavioral health and/or substance use disorder.

The HUC position is integral to the Nursing Department! Collaborating with the team, the HUC position supports the nursing department by assisting with day to day operations. The HUC is responsible for general communications on the nursing units, including telephone and written communication and maintaining patient records and administrative reports.

Responsibilities:

• Supports the nursing team including the DON and the Charge RN
• Serves as backup receptionist
• Assemble patient charts for admissions / transfers / discharges per hospital policy
• Dispatch messages to and from other departments
• Ensure nursing station remains organized

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Education: High school diploma minimum required. College or vocational training preferred.
• Experience: Two (2) years of job-related experience preferred. CNA/MA/Tech experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
