We are currently seeking a full-time Health Unit Coordinator to join our team of medical providers at our Bigfork, MN clinic.

Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls for nursing department, assist patients and route calls to appropriate party
• Coordinate patient referrals to outreach specialists
• Complete follow up phone calls and recalls as directed by providers
• Provide desktop management for various electronic medical record needs
• Assist nursing staff to resolve patient and pharmacy inquiries
• Obtain necessary medical records from outside facilities, focusing on new patients

Medical Receptionist Responsibilities

• Schedule, cancel and register patient appointments both over the phone and in person
• Prepare for patients' appointments by placing reminder calls and compiling charts with required information
• Verify patient demographic and insurance information before appointment to ensure billing accuracy
• Communicate to patients the pre-appointment paperwork and income based programs such as SAGE and Sliding Fee Scale
• Accept and enter patient payments and print end of day batch reports

Qualifications:

• Team Centered Approach
• Dependable, organized, detail oriented and professional
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• 1-3 years experience in a clinic or hospital setting preferred
• High school diploma required
