Summary: The heavy duty truck driver will follow directions instructions and specifications as determined by supervisor. Will perform work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.

Primary duties:

Haul materials on heavy duty trucks to work sites.

Load and unload trucks

Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure truck is working properly.

Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to supervisor.

Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.

Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.

Perform daily maintenance checks

Ensure all tools are stored properly at the end of each shift.

Responsible for notifying department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues immediately.

Responsible for following processes and procedures correctly.

Responsible for wearing appropriate clothing, shoes, and personnel protective equipment.

Physical Demands:

Lifting and carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 100lbs (+-50%) of the time

Standing/walking/climbing (+-50%)of the time

Occasional sitting in a normal position for an extended time (+-50%)of the time

Frequent reaching/handling/feeling (+-70%) of the time

Frequent use of finger dexterity (+70%) of the time.

Working Conditions:

Noise level is moderate to high.

Work environment is not always environmentally controlled, exposed to extreme heat and cold.

Education:

Ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Class A CDL required.

Experience:

Ideal candidate should have minimum one years’ experience as a heavy duty truck driver and a safe driving record within Company MVR policy guidelines.

Other Skills/Ability:

The ability to see details at a distance and close range.

The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal when it appears.

The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object
