Heavy Equipment Mechanic (FT) Job at Soiltesting
We are looking for an experienced Mechanic who takes pride in his abilities to maintain and understand the equipment he is working on. Soiltesting Inc. is a Geotechnical Drilling Contractor working throughout southern New England and New York since 1958. This is a 40 hr per weak position but may require some OT. The more versatile the person's skills, the more opportunity for OT.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
- Perform and record routine maintenance according to schedule.
- Provide routine inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Repair equipment as needed.
- Welding.
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed.
- keep the work area clean and safe.
- Adhere to company work safety policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience conducting routine heavy equipment and truck repair/maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience inspecting heavy equipment and trucks.
- Practical mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
- Sound mechanical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- The ability to operate heavy equipment, a CDL, and or welding ability; IS A PLUS.

- Drill rigs, backhoes, excavators, skid steer, geoprobe, trucks, trailers, and small engines.
