Participate in summer training (virtual and in person) and training throughout the school yearTeach two classes during the school dayDevote 3 non-teaching periods a day to: -Modeling practice (live and through the use of video)-Observing and providing feedback (see #11 below)-Supporting teachers within unit design, performance assessments, and lesson planning as needed-Providing resources and strategies to teachers to meet school-wide and curricular goals -Support teachers in the implementation of StudySyncTake a lead role in CPT by: -Facilitating professional development and learning opportunities with departmental colleagues-Sharing and modeling best practice strategies for departmental colleaguesSupport decision making and implementation of High Quality Curriculum Develop accountability metrics for student growth of teachers they coachSupport teachers in developing or altering units to be culturally responsiveProvide support to teachers that is individualized, instructionally-focused and data-driven Work with administration to provide job-embedded professional learning for teachers through modeling engaging and standards-based instructional practices, as neededImplement supports that include, but are not limited to the following with all departmental colleagues: -Analyzing student work to promote differentiated instruction-Conducting observations with formative assessment tools-Co-planning/ collaborating with teachers to design standards-based lessons and assessments aligned to district curriculum-Co-teaching-Reflecting on practice to identify areas of need and to establish next steps to address challenges within and out of the classroom-Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies within the classroom-Promoting effective classroom management strategies that will create a successful classroom culture-Working with parents and communities -Using video to promote reflection and model instructional practices-Promoting a culture of professionalismWork with professional development consultants/Chief Academic Officer by: -Meeting monthly to develop facilitation skills and identify and prioritize problems of practice -Modeling coaching practices by having them join you to provide feedback-Attending virtual and in person professional development sessions to potentially include up to two weeks travel out-of-state-Completing all required assignments of professional development programming in accordance to due dates and to the best of your ability. The High School Instructional Coaches will be held accountable for improving student outcomes. Maintaining the position for the second year is based on improved student achievement and teacher performance.
