  • Will designate an RN to act as Clinical Lead during his/her absence.
  • Assist Vice President of Hospice operations in conducting staff meetings, Interdisciplinary team meetings, providing in-service education and training of new and established staff.
  • Oversight, training, and implementation of the Federal, State, Local, Medicare, Medicaid regulations.
  • Report problems, employee complaints/issues, proposed goals/solutions, etc. to Vice President of Hospice operations.
  • Assess and assure clinical staff adherence to agency policy and procedures.
  • Assess and assure compliance with the Universal Body Fluid Precautions and the OSHA guidelines.
  • Develop and facilitate on-call nursing schedules, also participating in on-call when needed.
  • Mentor clinical staff on building community presence for Harmony Home Health and Hospice.
  • Must have skills in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Assist Vice President of Hospice Operations in hiring of all clinical staff and assignment of position, and any potential policy changes.
  • Assist Vice President of Hospice Operations in the clinical education of clinical staff to include Hospice eligibility, Symptom management and overview and expectations.
  • Assists Vice President of Hospice Operations with conducting and maintaining records of periodic performance evaluations of clinical staff, salary/wage changes, disciplinary action, etc.
  • Assist Vice President of Hospice Operations in development, oversight, and maintenance of clinical compliance issues, records, tracking processes; and assist with oversight of clinical chart auditing.
  • Develop and maintain effective patient/family confidentiality.
  • Attend all regional staff meetings.
  • Assist Vice President of Hospice Operations in overseeing Case Conferences and IDT meetings.
  • Maintain patient/family confidentiality.
  • Implement any new policies from the governing board.
  • Responsible for coordination of all Hospice admissions in designated area.
  • Ensure compliance with All Hospice paperwork; follow up on non-compliant items.
  • Ensure the Hospice Case Manager and support staff (Chaplain, Social Worker, Volunteer Coordinator, and Hospice Aide) maintain highest quality of care and compassion for patients and their families.
  • Assists with census growth including being involved in various marketing activities.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
