Summary: Directs and supervises the activities of employees across multiple retail dining operations in the LSU Student Union and oversees that assigned job expectations are completed while policies and procedures are maintained. Ensures that our guests receive outstanding service. Provides support in training new employees and continuing to coach current team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing training and creating work schedules.
• Evaluates the performance of workers, rewarding high performers and disciplining employees who fail to meet reasonable standards of work performance.
• Prepares production or sales reports for management team and ensures that their units meet the expectations for quality, productivity and safety.
• Acts as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
• May act as a mentor, develop employees and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement within the organization.
• Counts and enters weekly inventory across multiple units.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Needed

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years foodservice leadership-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.
• Culinary experience preferred.

Language Skills Needed

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before small groups of customers or associates of organization.

Mathematical Skills Needed

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability Needed

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills Needed

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Basic knowledge of web navigation, use of web browsers, creating and managing online accounts

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, you will be frequently required to talk or hear.
• You will be frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel or reach with your hands and arms.
• You will be occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
• You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, you may be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat and risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
