Position: Housekeeper

Department/Division: Facilities/Business & Fiscal Affairs

Salary Range: $7.00 – $9:00 per hour

FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Type/Duration: Full Time/12 months

Position Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (some weekend hours may be required)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Reports to the Custodial Supervisor.
• Cleans floors, walls, windows and furnishings in an assigned housekeeping area using appropriate cleaning materials and equipment but excluding buffing; floors and shampooing carpets.
• Removes trash and debris from assigned housekeeping area.
• Ensures that appropriate housekeeping supplies are available in each housekeeping area and that appropriate bathroom supplies are available in each bathroom area.
• Assists in arranging furniture and equipment in various buildings and outdoor areas in preparation for special events of the college.
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

EDUCATION

• High School diploma, preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Non-aerobic physical activity such as bending, stooping, repetitive hand use, and regular lifting of weights.
• It also requires climbing of stairs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• One (1) year of previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to perform various cleaning and housekeeping functions using appropriate equipment.
