Public Area Attendant
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To clean and maintain all public areas which includes all rest rooms, locker rooms, corridors, offices and food and beverage outlets, front door area. It is imperative that all public areas be kept in impeccable condition to achieve Pendry’s and Forbes standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
  • Thoroughly cleans sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, and stalls, vents and/or floors with appropriate cleaning agents. Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
  • Sweep and mop all flooring, which includes all hard surfaces.
  • Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures, and shelves.
  • Thoroughly clean all lobby entrance windows.
  • Vacuuming of the public areas includes: corridors and all hallways. Vacuum the non-–public areas (back of house).
  • Thoroughly clean and polish all metal surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents.
  • Clean ashtrays and empty trash.
  • Clean, and give proper maintenance to the bathrooms public and staff locker rooms.
  • Complete job specific checklist daily.
  • Maintain cleanliness of outside building.
  • Monitor elevator cleanliness
  • Responsible for overall cleanliness of lobby and public areas
  • Report any damage, hazard repairs to your immediate supervisor
  • Be familiar with property, departments, hours of operation and services of the hotel
  • Provide general public assistance, instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
  • Report any suspicious activity in lobby, public areas, hallways or in the Pendry Hotel facilities.
  • Turn in all lost and found items in accordance with lost and found procedures.
  • Refer to the daily event sheet to direct the guests to the correct meeting room.
  • Demonstrate a Perfect Pendry Host attitude at all times.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, colleagues may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk public areas for extended periods of time.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Considerable walking and standing is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  • Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions and perform job functions under limited supervision.
  • Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understanding information such as safety labels and instructions.
  • Works well independently or as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must possess an understanding of the English language with the ability to speak, read and write to effectively communicate with other team members
  • Multiple language abilities a plus, English required.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School graduate preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Prior hotel experience preferred.
