This position is included in a bargaining unit of Housing Works’ New York City employees represented by a labor union known as the Retail Wholesale and Department Store Union (“RWDSU”). Accordingly, the RWDSU has the exclusive right to bargain over the terms and conditions of employment related to this position and this position may become covered by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement (a “CBA”) between Housing Works and the RWDSU (ONLY INCLUDED IF IN UNION)

Compensation: $24.038

The Housing Coordinator will be responsible for management and outcomes related to housing coordination services, establishing and maintaining comprehensive referral systems, escorting clients to housing interviews, collaborate with housing works staff and other providers to assist clients.


Minimum Requirements

Serve as primary contact for housing assistance for clients.

Ascertain the housing needs and available resources for persons seeking housing assistance and work with them in finding housing Coordinate process of lease sign in, landlord negotiations and contracts

Generate resources in the area of housing, including: researching available affordable and supportive housing options; developing relationships with landlords, brokers and housing programs

Develop program activities and housing workshops to keep participants engaged during the housing placement/search process.

Triage and assess all information and referral inquiries to assure effective advocacy for the consumers Develop partnerships with housing and community providers to assist consumers.

Troubleshooting housing issues as they arise with the housing team Collect and maintain all program and referral documentation and case records pursuant to data management procedures and contractual obligations.

Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary staff in cross-departmental efforts to increase services to specific youth populations and provide appropriate support for young people

Serve as a liaison between community partners, property managers and other participants in order to secure housing opportunities for clients.

Hold housing groups and complete and submit 2010E applications via PACT as needed.

Track housing statistics and effectiveness of stably housing individuals who cite housing as a barrier to achieving positive healthcare outcomes.
