Job Description

This position is responsible for administrative support for Human Resources, Health and Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility departments. Works under the direction of the HR Superintendent in the areas assigned within his/her scope of accountability while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values. This position is a part-time role, working Monday through Thursday and approximately 30 hours each week.

Job Responsibilities

1. Acts as an ambassador for the HR team by greeting guests and employees, directing them to the appropriate person on the team and handling other basic inquiries.
2. Help employees and guests from the town office, directing questions to site HR business partners as needed.
3. Establish and maintain a file structure for all employee electronic files.
4. HRIS system entry support and auditing.
5. Support recruiting function by scheduling interviews and maintaining candidate tracking system.
6. Maintain disciplinary logs, both in the HR drive and in the HRIS system.
7. Makes recommendations on structure for electronic filing systems to ensure ease of navigation by the department.
8. Maintain all personnel filing in a timely manner both paper and electronic.
9. Order office supplies for the HR Department and town office.
10. Clean town office weekly, including cleaning the bathroom, and dusting and vacuuming the office areas.
11. Coordinating meetings and events, including booking locations and arranging meals.
12. General office duties including: answering phone calls, taking accurate messages, scanning documents for record keeping, setting up meetings, filing, photocopying, etc.
13. Support Corporate Social Responsibility as needed with engagement reporting.
14. Support Health and Safety department with administrative tasks, including but not limited to record keeping, and system upkeep and reporting.

21. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.


Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations and keep detailed records.
2. Three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and prior administrative experience preferred.
3. Previous experience in the mining industry is a plus.
4. Ability to establish priorities and maintain deadlines under multiple time pressures.
5. Ability to work accurately and efficiently with a minimum amount of direct supervision. The supervisor provides general directions for goal setting.
6. Flexibility in work schedule. May be required to stop in the middle of one project to work on something else, or assist a co-worker.
7. Strong knowledge of PC based systems is required, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
8. JDE experience preferred.
