Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: Human Resources Manager

FLSA Status: Salaried - Exempt

Summary: Plans, coordinates, and directs training, staff development programs and associate relations activities by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Conducts needs analysis studies and confers with managers and supervisors to determine training needs.

· Compiles data and analyzes past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets and justify funds requested.

· Formulates training programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, company production processes, business systems, or changes in products, procedures, or services.

· Selects appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play, and computer-based training.

· Organizes and develops training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.

· Trains supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training, employment law, interviewing techniques, effective supervision and management development.

· Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects and orientate employees to fill vacant hourly positions.

· Work with managers and supervisors to successfully complete 30, 60 and 90 day reviews.

· Determine drivers of Employee turnover and retention.

· Serve as the new hire employee ambassador. Follow up and give them opportunities to share concerns and questions.

· Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

· Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

· Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree. Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Human Resource systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
