The Human Resource Generalist has an overall responsibility for providing support in various human resource functions which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitor, employee relation, employee counseling, compensation and benefits administration, implementation and administration of human resource programs.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Serve employees as well as management by handling day to day questions and helping resolve work-related inquiries.
  • Helps in creating and communicating company policies, procedures & promotes understanding of policies and procedures within the organization.
  • Recruits for open positions and performs the full life cycle of recruiting activities including: sourcing and screening applicants, maintaining recruiting systems, drafting offer letters, providing follow-through with candidates, supporting hiring managers, reporting recruiting statistics, set up and monitor pre-employment drug test, physicals, background checks

• Creating and updating job descriptions with members of management; assist in classifying positions as needed for the company. • Provide advice and assistance when conducting staff performance evaluations.

  • Helps with employee on-boarding activities; answer employee questions and provide support to assistant managers when integrating new hires into the organization.
  • Work with safety coordinator to keep in compliance, be a member of the safety committee, maintain training records.
  • Works with staffing agencies and work release program coordinator regarding all matters pertaining to temporary employees and work release participants.
  • Creates, monitors and assigns security badges.

• Administer employee benefit programs, answer employee questions, support claim resolution, and maintain related systems. • Leads employee recognition programs.

  • Responsible for maintaining employee records.
  • Responsible for new hire, termination, and change of status forms with payroll.
  • Serves as employee liaison to assist in problem resolution with issues related to benefit deductions and pay.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Perform investigations into policy violations including reasonable suspicion. Transport employee to designated clinic or hospital for drug/alcohol testing.
  • Maintains records and provides information to the department of work force development regarding unemployment claims.
  • Maintains bulletin boards with updated information i.e. labor board, policies, company announcement


SCHEDULE:
Office hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Hours are subject to change depending on employee/management needs.

PAY: $20-25/ HR based on experience

POSITION TYPE: Contract to hire/ 100% onsite


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related fields preferred or a combination of experience and education.
  • 2 years field related experience. Manufacturing environment experience preferred
