RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate the overall responsibilities for HR activities throughout the second shift at the Faribault Plant location.
  • Oversee and coordinate the overall recruitment activities for responsible area of the plant. Screen, interview and hire qualified applicants to fill authorized positions.
  • Develop, organize and implement new employee orientation program to ensure all new hires on all shifts receive required training.
  • Verify identification for payroll purposes and for employment eligibility (I-9's).
  • Process termination paperwork as necessary and according to procedures.
  • Track applicant, hiring, termination and attendance trends. Ensure full compliance with such regulatory programs as Affirmative Action. Follow posting procedures and administer locational transfers.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and the completion of department and live production payroll in a timely manner.
  • Enforce Company Work Rules and policies consistently.
  • Conduct investigations and keep management informed when needed.
  • Assure compliance with applicable State and Federal Employment Laws. Oversees Safety Programs to ensure compliance with Corporate Safety Policy and OSHA requirements.
  • This position is accountable for all activities in regard to the administration and maintenance of sound company-employee relations that will result in a productive work force.
  • Ensure the effective management of workers compensation claims.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent human resources or supervisor experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in the area of employee relations.
  • A strong pattern of initiative, achievement, and leadership.
  • Proven problem solving, decision making, persuasive, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work second shift.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.

Preferred
  • English/Somali or English/Spanish.
