Primary Purpose

The Director, Human Resources will lead, direct, develop, plan and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) function, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of all aspects of employment with Nebo. The Director, Human Resources will play a key role in building a robust HR function, in line with the company’s vision for growth.


Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily work of the HR function, ensuring timely, effective, and responsive HR operations
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to align HR with Nebo’s goals and strategies related to staffing, recruiting, employee engagement, benefits and retention
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support Nebo’s commitment to DEI and other human resource compliance and strategy needs
  • Develops and manages annual departmental budget
  • Forecasts and identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and onboarding and talent management
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and development of metrics from Nebo’s human resource information and talent management systems (currently Bamboo)
  • Monitors and ensures Nebo’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across all relevant states, and presents recommendations based on best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate and recommend changes in policy, practice, and resources to leadership team
  • May lead or co-lead Nebo’s Fun Committee, Nebo Evolving Workplace Team and internal DEI initiatives
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policies
  • Oversees contracting and short-term employment arrangements
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff as applicable
  • Plans, leads, coordinates, and implements policies and processes regarding Covid-19 safety
  • Performs other duties as required

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred

Experience

  • 5+ years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • Experience building, executing, managing across the HR function such as in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, payroll, benefits, employment policy, etc.
