Golden Queen Mining Company, LLC (the “Company”) is operating a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

The Company is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for its Soledad Mountain Project (the “Project”) in Mojave. The Human Resources Generalist will be primarily responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization’s staff by recruiting, orienting, and training employees, as well as evaluating employee relations, policies, programs and practices to ensure compliance. Coordinates with payroll to develop policies and procedures for improving payroll processing and error prevention. This position maintains personnel records in accordance with Federal, State, and the Company’s SOX procedures. This is a safety sensitive position.

This position reports to Human Resource Manager.


Responsibilities

  • Recruiting, hiring, orienting, counseling, disciplining, terminating, and training employees in conjunction with senior management.
  • Establish, implement and maintain personnel files, job descriptions, employee handbook Corporate Governance, and policies;
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing Federal and State requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records
  • Establish, administer, and educate employees on benefits programs, policies, protected leave programs, and payroll.
  • Establish, maintain and compile reports for staffing, community relations, donations, ads, and payroll.
  • Track and review employee performance reviews to ensure timely and appropriate feedback is given to employees as it relates to laws and company policies and procedures
  • Planning and attendance of company events (e.g., job fairs, family day, community events, etc.)
  • Other reports and audits (401(k), insurance needs, workers comp) as needed.
Requirements:

Requirements

  • Business degree or equivalent required;
  • Human Resources certifications preferred
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource; information confidential;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources required;
  • Payroll experience preferred but not required
  • An effective communicator, ability to interact with others, mediation background a plus;
  • Self-starter needing minimal oversight and direction;
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comply with laws, regulations and policies;
  • Must have excellent computer skills in MS Office, Paylocity experience a plus;
  • Driver’s license required
  • High school diploma or GED
