Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans (MPI) has a key opportunity for an experienced and talented Human Resources Generalist with deep LOA experience and recruiting ability to join a growing organization and HR team recognized as an Employer of Choice. As a true Generalist and utility player, you will provide support in multiple HR areas with a primary emphasis on leave of absence management and recruitment of assigned positions. The position supports the administration of leave of absence requests and the daily management and maintenance of FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, ADA, Workers Comp and Short and Long Term Disability (STD/LTD) claims, and the enrollment and management of FSA, 401k, regular and voluntary life insurance benefits. It also serves as a back-up to the Talent Acquisition Team and actively manages the sourcing of assigned positions.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Administering employee leave and benefit programs
  • Providing support in the tracking of data and communication of benefits and eligibility to employees and management
  • Interpreting all relevant and required documentation for certifying or denying leaves in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations
  • Function as liaison with MPI Payroll staff to ensure accurate and complete information has been provided regarding employees' LOA or disability claims
  • Preparing, maintaining, and managing employees' leave of absence files as required
  • Providing timely and accurate information and responses to employees, HR, and management on benefit programs as they relate to leave status
  • Maintaining a strong working knowledge of MPI’s policies on all leave of absence types.
  • Keeping up to date on current industry practices, developments, and government regulations related to employee leave provisions
  • Identifying issues and concerns as they arise and proactively recommending a plan for resolution
  • Communicating effectively with a high level of customer service and maintain a professional working relationships within MPI and other third-party vendors
  • Serving as back up for other HR Generalist and/or Recruiter activities and assignments
  • Processing new enrollments and coordinating with business partners to ensure employees are onboarded/offboarded to plans as appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of HR Generalist and Recruitment experience; experience sourcing talent is a plus
  • Knowledge of employment related and compliance legislation including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, ADA, FLSA, FEHA and EEOC
  • Ability to discern when to pend a decision on FMLA based on receipt of additional medical documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including grammar and spelling
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office Suite; intermediate Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Strong technical skills, experience and familiarity with HRIS and ATS systems; experience using Dayforce a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • HR Certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Creative with a good sense of humor

The anticipated base salary for this position is $85,000-$100,000 annually. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
