Position Details

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with the administrative team for personnel recruiting, examining, hiring, placement, and retention processes.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of staff placement.
  • Research and compile classification, salary, and comparability studies.
  • Design and implement classification, salary, and comparability studies.
  • Work collaboratively with the administration on all aspects of labor relations activities.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with the administration on grievance and disciplinary processes.
  • Works collaboratively with the business and finance office to develop comprehensive employee benefit plans.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of all personnel record processes, human resources guidelines and practices, and reviews handbooks and personnel processes.
  • Communicate important information to staff, such as contractual updates, etc.
  • Collaborates and district administration to understand and interpret relevant laws related to personnel management.
  • Ensures compliance with district, local, state, and federal employment regulations.
  • Coordinates system of performance appraisals and works with supervisors on employee evaluations.
  • Attends board of education meetings as needed.
  • Coordinates substitute services with third-party providers.
  • Researches, compiles, and submits electronic or written reports as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the business and finance office to budget for the operation of the human resources functions.
  • May be required to investigate and/or coordinate Title IX and other civil rights processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities: The manager will directly supervise HR staff.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred with related coursework and/or professional development. Five years of human resource experience.

Other Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in human resource management; knowledge and experience in sound business operations and organizational development; strong communication and interpersonal skills; must establish and maintain effective working relationships; must be technically proficient with the ability to use current computer technologies; must be organized and dependable; must work well within given time and cost constraints; must respect and maintain confidentiality; must carry-out all responsibilities with awareness of all district requirements and standards established by the Board of Education. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. Regular and predictable attendance is required for this position.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations. Ability to compose and write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators and staff.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to define and collect measurable data. Ability to derive meaningful statistical facts and draw valid conclusions.

Reasoning Ability: Solve a practical problem logically and rationally. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and use fingers, tools, or controls. The employee regularly uses a computer and may be required to lift and/or push up to 20 lbs. The employee is regularly required to reach with hand and arms and continuously repeat the same hard, arm, or finger. The employee may be required to travel in their personal vehicle as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance visitation, and the ability to adjust focus.

Employment Date, Salary, and Benefits: The position is a 52-week position. Placement on the administrative salary schedule depends upon qualifications and experience per the contract schedule.
