Industrial Designer Job at NEP Group
We are seeking a full-time Industrial Designer to assist and support the Systems Integration team in the mechanical design of broadcast and production systems at NEP’s Systems Integration facility. Key duties include:
- Assists in the design and development of new or existing systems/facilities with specialization in television mobile unit trailers, Fly Pack and Studio systems. This Includes digitizing physical objects and assemblies from existing drawings, publishing documents from relevant CAD drawings, and preparing modifications of designs.
- Produces drawing packages from various disciplines including; structural, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, interior and console design, as well as architectural, interior/exterior materials and finishes.
- Offers insight to techniques, methodology, and materials to improve systems, installation and fabrication.
- Assists in the selection materials, equipment, and components.
- Reviews and researches the assembly, fabrication, and tests feasibility of prototypes and equipment.
- Work with the design team, mechanical and technical supervisors, and project coordinator to develop and verify designs, order needed materials, and assure necessary inventory is available to implement designs.
- Assists in developing budgets and project proposals.
- Visits project sites, production floor, maintenance shop assess progress and assist with troubleshooting, testing, implementation and design improvement. Limited travel may be required.
