Vance Brothers is a prominent asphalt manufacturing and contracting company delivering quality products. We are looking to fill our full time year-round first shift Industrial Plant Maintenance position. This is a fast-paced environment, and this person must be able to show excellent communication skills while being able to multitask.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs routine and in-depth maintenance on company plant equipment, buildings and grounds in an effort to minimize breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Perform all maintenance services according to appropriate codes, safety regulations, company policies, etc.
• Work with electrical, piping, welding, machine repair, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, fabricate and install new equipment, and carpentry.
• The work environment includes working in confined spaces, heights, lifting heavy loads, climbing ladders, and being on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Heavy equipment usage includes forklifts, cranes, loaders, man-lifts, skid loaders and backhoes. Training in safety and the use of will be supplied and is required for operation.
• Maintain individual maintenance labor log sheets and timecards. Maintain the buildings, equipment, etc. in a well-kept condition. Assure all maintenance tools and equipment are well cared for. Maintain spare parts inventory as necessary for adequate maintenance response times. Maintain work areas in a clean and safe manner.
• Training includes sessions focusing on the maintenance of manufacturing equipment, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and pump repair.
• Successful completion and renewal of all assigned company safety courses as prescribed by the Maintenance Manager and Safety Director is required.
• Maintain a good attendance and punctuality record. Be available to work overtime on short notice if needed. Inform Maintenance Supervisor of any equipment or machinery operation problems as soon as possible.
• Job includes working around hazardous materials (hot oil, caustics, etc.).
• Must acquire or have access to personal hand tools to use on the job.

Required Experience

• Requirements include the ability to read and write fluently, perform moderately difficult mathematical calculations, and the ability to diagnose and solve problems.
• The ability to obtain and keep a Class E License is mandatory. Class E License must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
