Job Description: Picks up charts from the floor and assembles medical records by prepping, scanning, and indexing incomplete and miscellaneous paper reports into the prescribed chart order to complete the electronic medical record (EMR). Analyzes documents for patient identification labels and completeness. Interviews for and prepares and processes Birth Certificates or Record of Fetal Death Certificates. Participates in on-call weekend rotation for birth certificate coverage and helps to answer the phone and assist the front desk as necessary including knowing the standards for release of information.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate.
- Proficient in the use of keyboard and basic office equipment.
- Knowledge of laws governing legitimacy and paternal affidavits.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience: No previous experience required.
