The innovation program @ AAA Washington is an internal innovation program that plays a vital role in helping transform our products & services of today, while leading the way to the future.

As our Innovation Manager, you will be a hands-on contributor supporting the many facets of our innovation program. You’ll immerse yourself in our innovation portfolio, working with startups we invest in, partners we engage with, and internal teams delivering new products and services supporting our core business today. You will research new market opportunities for the future, and you will play a central role in bringing those winning innovation ideas to life.

You will work with teams and individuals across our business helping to ignite idea generation and helping support the activities needed to define, prioritize, approve and execute innovation efforts.

You’ll help us assess & measure innovation opportunities, support programs and partners, contribute to creation of innovation business cases, and assist in providing project planning and coordination vital to onboarding new programs, products and services.

Key responsibilities:

• Coordinate creation of business case artifacts for new innovation opportunities.
• Manage ongoing operating relationships of innovation partners & startups.
• Guide and/or participate in idea generation & innovation discovery efforts.
• Manage ongoing measurement of innovation program status and outcomes.
• Report program status and insights to Innovation Governance and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with peers, leaders and subject matter experts to discover, define and guide innovation opportunities.

Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in program or product management, including measuring and reporting on program insights and outcomes, and providing insights for program governance.
• Experience identifying, creating, or sourcing ideas & opportunities, and developing business cases to pitch to decision makers.
• Strong knowledge and passion for entrepreneurship with demonstrated grasp of emerging trends, markets, and technologies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of digital platforms, agile delivery, and technical product management.
• Analysis skills with exposure to creating business cases, cost benefit analysis, and ROI assessments.
• Excellent interpersonal, networking and presentation skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships.
• Exposure to / familiarity with startup communities, venture capital, incubators is helpful.
• Ability to multi-task, managing multiple high visibility initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and function well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This is a highly visible position that reports to and partners closely with the Chief Innovation Officer. The ideal candidate will at minimum have a 4-year college degree, 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience, a career history that demonstrates innovation experience, and a strong track record of delivering results.

• Between $120,851 - $161,000 annually, placement within the range is based on experience.
• Eligible for Annual companywide discretionary incentive.
