Job Description
Candidate is responsible for following up directly with commercial and governmental payers to resolve medical claim issues, secure appropriate, and timely reimbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates insurance follow up on aged, unresolved claims to ensure maximum reimbursement
  • Submits appeals and reconsiderations on claim rejections, underpayments, and denials
  • Engages the coding follow-up team for any medical necessity or coding related appeals
  • Sets follow-up activities based on status of the claim
  • Communicates identified payer trends such as denials for specific procedure, diagnosis codes, or other identified issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must reside in Texas
  • Two years relevant experience in medical collections
  • Experience with Epic, Meditech, or Ace preferred
  • An understanding of revenue cycle
  • Demonstrate problem solving ability/analytical skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Typing speed: 45+ WPM
  • US work authorization (required)
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen as permitted by law

  • Part-time position
  • Full- time position
  • Flexible schedule; possible hours: 4-10 hour days (once production standards are met)

  • High school or equivalent (preferred)
