Team Overview:
The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader in energy, metals, and agricultural product trading worldwide whose professionals trade in both physical and derivative commodity risk.
The US Interest Rates Strats team is seeking a highly motivated Strat in New York to support the Interest Rates Options Desk. The team will consider a VP or an Associate and the responsibilities and scope scale accordingly.
Primary responsibilities:
Work closely with the Trading Desk to support existing tools and build the next generation of tools for traders
Develop and maintain non-arbitrage option pricing models and calibration tools
Participate to Desk / Bank wide Quant efforts, including Workflow improve
Collaborate with Strats, IT, Risk, Finance, Ops, and COO office to co-ordinate critical deliveries
Present complex issues clearly, both verbally and in writing
Advanced Degree in a quantitative field such Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Computer Science
Strong programming skills and willingness to learn Scala
Rigor, Project Management, Collaboration, and Independence
Knowledge of Fixed-Income Derivatives is a plus, while Curve building, Collateral, Optimization, is a strong plus
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $200,000 per year for an Associate, and between $200,000 and $250,000 per year for a Vice President, at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
