Description:

The terminal manager is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations at Intermodal and Automotive facilities. As well as, the overall management of the operating contractors and vendors, performing the operations and the overall care of the facility.

Accountabilities:

• Manages and coordinates the daily switching, intermodal and automotive operations
• Calculates, measures and analyzes Key Performance Indicators associated with the operations. i.e. railcar utilization, on time release, on time departure, lifts per hour, right container right train, arrival to spot, spot to unload, etc.
• Leads all aspects of the maintenance and repairs, involved in running an intermodal and automotive facility, such as pot hole repair, striping, mowing, snow removal, etc.
• Coordinates the ramp operating contractor and vendors, in accordance to their contract and daily and overall needs of the operation.
• Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job-related major field of study
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience
• or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

• Advanced degree in a related field, such as transportation or logistics
• Previous Kansas City Southern operations / transportation experience
• Bi-lingual

Working Conditions:

• This position has a regular full-time schedule with a normal work week of Monday through Friday. There may be a need for occasional work with operations responsibility 24/7, as needed
• This position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time.
