The Internal Communications Manager creates and implements cohesive and effective internal communications plans that inform physicians and other employees of key goals, initiatives, and activities in a consistent, timely manner. Maintains and enhances current internal and external communications vehicles and develop new channels and tactics that enhance effective internal and external communications. Organizes events by engaging audiences and partnering with key stakeholders. Focused on improving engagement and disseminating information from senior leadership to broader audience. Collaborates with colleagues to ensure cohesive messaging including external marketing communications and content pieces. Works closely with senior leadership, medical directors, and leadership team in fulfilling key job responsibilities.

Education/ Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field from an accredited college/university or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant corporate communications or related experience preferred with portfolio of relevant accomplishments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, a sense of diplomacy, sound political judgment, flexibility and the ability to work as part of an integrated team are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion and maturity is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects under pressure required.
  • Experience in health care preferred.

General Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and maintains comprehensive and integrated internal communications plans for the health system and senior leadership, and recommend development and maintenance of appropriate channels to deliver organizational messaging and brand.
  • Serves as the primary writer of key leadership communications to internal audiences (physicians and staff). Key leadership communications include organizational structure and transitions in leadership, policy or practice changes that affect employee compensation and benefits, issues that threaten the stability or focus of the workforce, and updates on major change management initiatives. This position works closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities for meaningful or critical communication.
  • Works with internal teams to maximize the effective reach of all internal communications targeted to employees. This may include drafting, designing, and managing messaging on social media channels.
  • Facilitates urgent clinical or emergency messaging
  • Develops goals for and quantifiable measures of the effectiveness of internal communications and implement tools for ensuring consistent measurement of outcomes and feedback from employees.
  • Serves as an internal and external communications consultant/advisor to departments, sections, programs and/or strategic initiatives where a comprehensive approach to internal and external communications is critical to success
  • Develops content for external facing marketing communications.
  • Write content, take photos/ videos and develop visual materials for campaigns as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
