REMOTE POSITION - WEB DEVELOPER

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Support and develop applications using languages/technologies such as: C#, SQL, ASP.NET (MVC/Web API), ASP.NET Core, XML/JSON, HTML/CSS/SCSS, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Ability to use tools in our development environment: Visual Studio, Azure DevOps Server, SQL Management Studio, DBVisualizer, Fiddler, Dynatrace
  • Working closely with project managers, business analysts and stakeholders; analyze requirements and participate in outlining solutions to develop mission critical software solutions for the company.
  • Ability to perform essential system/application software analysis to provide an accurate estimate on the work effort necessary to implement a designed solution.
  • Develop secure software solutions using the latest development frameworks and practices and communicate effectively with other developers on different platforms, to implement a desired solution.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues with assistance as necessary in any of the company’s applications that the team is responsible for.
  • Maintain knowledge on the latest technology and development trends
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and necessary.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS

Make independent decisions as necessary in programming/design. When assigned as Project Leader, incumbent makes decisions affecting that project. Some decisions require "group discussions" or input from the Distributed Systems Team Leader/Supervisor/Manager.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and at least 18 months of paid work experience as a software developer. A working knowledge of two or more of the following: C#, SQL, ASP.NET (MVC/Web API), ASP.NET Core, HTML/CSS/SCSS, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery. Working knowledge of relational databases is required. Good communication skills required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal office environment with occasional travel necessary to visit office locations, conferences/training classes and meetings. May occasionally need to lift, hold, and carry 20 pounds.

Must be able to read, analyze and interpret procedures, regulations, instructions, manuals, and other documents as required. Excellent telephone, public relations and oral/written communication skills are required. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Must possess basic skills with computers including experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint and be familiar with typical company web-based system applications. Experience using SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio, or other comparable IDEs required.

The employee must be able to organize and prioritize work in order to keep projects on schedule and deliver work on time. Must have knowledge of office administration procedures and able to operate most standard office equipment. The employee must pay attention to detail in composing and proofing materials. Must be self-motivated with initiative and ability to make decisions and accept responsibility. Be flexible to respond to unexpected situations that require immediate attention.
