Opportunity Overview

North Shore Community Health (NSCH) is an industry leader in exceptional delivery of community healthcare. The IT/Health Information Management Analyst I position will require expertise and/or certification in Epic HIM functions; a strong knowledge of Epic HIM security, Chart Corrections, Data Integrity, duplicate patients, and BTG access/functionality is preferred. The IT/HIM Analyst I will work as an analyst with our Epic IT/HIM team to support HIM functions and health center end users in their daily use of Epic, resolving tickets, participating in Epic meetings, troubleshooting basic Epic issues with end users, and assignments on system projects that require an HIM Analyst. The IT/HIM Analyst I resource will also work to assist end users with connecting and signing into Citrix/Epic as well as working with HR and end user managers to ensure that the documentation for submitting new, terminating, or changing Epic accounts is submitted and processed correctly. The IT/HIM Analyst I will be assigned other IT projects or requests putting together training documentation or job aids, testing/validation in ongoing Epic data integrations, and managing other small IT applications such as DocuSign, Relias, or Zoom.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the primary support contact to application’s end-users for HIM activities such as potential duplicate patients, merges, chart corrections, overlays, data integrity, interface errors, system maintenance, and other HIM activities.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and data collection of report details and other technical issues associated with Epic HIM.
  • Perform maintenance tasks (error queues, reviews, etc.) and participates in development, execution, and sign off of system testing.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation on system configurations and technical components.
  • Acts as system admin to work with managers to submit requests for Epic accounts, access, and training tracts for end users.
  • Works with and troubleshoots for end users’ Epic connectivity issues such as logging into Citrix and signing into Epic.
  • Identify potential system enhancement needs, and introduce best practice options for future state workflows and processes.
  • Identify issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams and working to resolve them.
  • Guide and create workflow, including design, build, and testing the system.
  • Analyze technical issues associated with EMR.
  • Serves as a liaison between end users’ workflow needs and implementation staff and assists the end users in connecting with higher level Epic support.
  • Maintain regular communication with EMR representatives, as well as participating in weekly project team meetings.
  • Work with EMR Representatives and Organization’s business community, and end-users to ensure the system meets the organizations business needs.
  • Participate in training and working with end users.
  • Documenting troubleshooting and resolutions via ticketing system.
  • Conduct weekly communication with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, and upcoming milestones.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Attend/complete all required trainings and participate in meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as requested to fulfill NSCH’s mission.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Epic and other HIM roles.
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT support or helpdesk functions
  • In depth knowledge of Epic, HIM processes, and functions.
  • EMR Certification for Epic HIM is a plus.
  • Experience with Epic and relevant clinical systems.
  • Strong ability to convey technical information to non-technical customers and good listening to translate in the other direction.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry, healthcare information systems, and practices.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and interact with employees at all levels throughout the organization. Participate in intra and interdepartmental collaboration, and handle multiple tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to do report writing, meeting minutes, and update/change/make project plans.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • The desire and willingness to learn other IT projects, functions, and actively engage in projects that might be new to you.
  • Ability to access all program locations (including travel to our sites).
